Badapple Theatre presents The Thankful Village

Thursday 8 November 2018 at 7:30pm

A poignant play that follows the lives of three women from the same rural household- above and below stairs- through the long years of The Great War, left behind to cope as their men-folk march off to Flanders. Each one faces up to the challenges in her own way, with resilience, humour, a sense of duty and whatever vestiges of hope she can muster, as the years pass by and they wait anxiously for news of loved ones far away. The cannot know that their village will end the war as one of a very few similar communities for which fate has reserved a special place in history.

Badapple Theatre presents The Frozen Roman

Thursday 2 May 2019 at 7:30pm

World premiere from Badapple of a new comedy by Kate Bramley
With original music by Jez Lowe

They came, they saw, they conquered, they went away again. Or did they?

An emergency meeting at the Phoenix pub gets heated, as the villagers rack their brains for new ways to fight the imminent housing development that threatens village life as they know it.

The discovery of an ancient burial site under foot may just throw them a lifetime if they can somehow authenticate their mysterious findings. But things aren’t always what they seem!

Expect a double dose of comedy as the situation goes “ballisticus maximus” in this brand new original comedy from Kate Bramley and Badapple Theatre.

Highway to Hull - ACDC Tribute
Yorkshires Leading ACDC tribute act comes to Bingley Arts Centre with Special Guests * * * The bigger the stage, the bigger the show * * * Highway to Hull are Yorkshires answer to ACDC. Classic songs from both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras, will ensure that ACDC fans of all ages are catered for. Following on from performing “Sell out” gigs across Yorkshire and headlining multi band outdoor events, Highway to Hull recently played another sell out gig at Guiseley Theatre in December with the original ‘one and only’ T Rex. The Group was originally put together by musicians meeting at Beat It Music in Baildon, just over the hill from Bingley. The band are excited about performing what is essentially their local home gig and still recruits its members from within Yorkshire. Andrew Steele (from Huddersfield) was the most recent member to join the group (as Angus Young). He joins Mick 'The Metal' Walsh (Rhythm), Charley 'Otto' Cunz (Vocals), Malcolm Moorhouse (Bass) who has just returned to the group and founder member Matthew Wildman (Drums) The night may well bring a few extras to the main performance and a good quality support act will also be completing the line up, to make it one heck of an evening to remember.
